24 Hour Urine Test Instructions

A 24-hour urine collection is a simple diagnostic procedure that measures the components of urine. The test is noninvasive (the skin is not pierced) and is used to assess kidney (renal) function.
Follow these steps when collecting urine:

Upon awakening on the first day of your urine collection, discard the first urine of the morning. All day and night after that, save your urine in a container.
